I think textured polishes can be really fun on occasion, so when I saw Sally Hansen's Sugar Coat polish in this gorgeous Red Velvet color on the store shelf, I just had to have it.
As much as I loved it when I first saw it, I actually have mixed feelings about this polish. It went on easily and two coats gave good coverage, but I'm still not sure about the finished texture of this one. If you look very closely (this is as close as my camera can get and stay in focus, sorry! I really need a new one!), the rough texture was actually a bit patchy in places and not as consistent as I'd like. Though, I suppose that may be good in some ways: the small smooth areas in between the rough spots did help the surface catch a little more light, which some people may prefer.
So, overall, I liked the color and application of this polish, but I'm not sure how often I'll go back to it when I'm in the mood for a textured polish. Or, if I do, I might try three coats and/or a topcoat, just to see how that affects the final look.
